From Market to Plate: Honey Thyme Brûléed Feta

We have fallen in love with broiling B&L Honey over feta cheese. This combination is the perfect blend of sweet and salty to spread on crusty bread and simple enough to throw together for even last minute get togethers.

Honey Thyme Brûléed Feta

1 8-ounce block feta, blotted dry

2-3 tablespoons honey (we like to get ours locally from B&L Honey!)

4-5 sprigs of fresh thyme

2 tablespoons olive oil

Freshly ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Blot the feta with paper towels to remove any excess moisture (can also allow to sit on the towels for half an hour or so to absorb moisture).

Combine honey and thyme leaves in a small bowl. Microwave about 10-15 seconds to infuse the honey with the herb. Set aside.

Arrange the feta in an oven safe dish and drizzle with olive oil. Bake until the cheese is soft and springy to the touch but not melted, about 8-10 minutes.

Preheat the broiler. Pour the thyme infused honey over the feta, covering completely.

Broil until the top of the cheese browns and just starts to bubble. Watch closely, as the honey may burn easily. Season to taste with black pepper.

Serve immediately to spread on crusty bread, pita wedges, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, roasted beets, nuts or pickled vegetables.
